Service Description

The Wonder Lab is a process-oriented summer camp rooted in curiosity, experimentation, and art-forward play. This is a studio-style environment where children are invited to explore materials, follow their questions, and discover what unfolds when there is no pressure to produce a final product. Through experimental art-making, sensory exploration, simple science curiosities, and open-ended play, kids learn to trust their ideas and stay present with the creative process. In The Wonder Lab, we mix colors, test materials, observe reactions, build temporary worlds, and explore “what happens if…” moments. Some days are quiet and focused. Some days are messy and expansive. All days center wonder, imagination, and embodied learning. Rather than step-by-step projects, children are offered invitations—materials, prompts, and space to explore at their own pace. The emphasis is on observation, experimentation, self-expression, and joyful discovery. The Wonder Lab is ideal for children who love to explore, feel deeply, ask big questions, and create without a script. It’s a nurturing space where curiosity leads, mistakes are welcomed, and the process itself is the magic. Every camp at Catskills Rock offers access to our music studio and dance room, outdoor and indoor play spaces, guided hikes at the nearby nature preserve, backyard water play and neighborhood bike-riding fun. We maintain a relaxed, fun space where kids can be themselves and enjoy time with friends, while making incredible art and music! A snack is provided. Kids can pack backpacks with a water bottle, lunch, sunscreen and sun hat.
